Transitional Accommodation Program (TAP)
Important Information
TAP provides longer term accommodation in Perth's metropolitian area for young people aged 16 – 21 years. The majority of these properties are in the northern suburbs however we do have 2 properties in the Como area.
Unlike TINOCA, TAP is more independent living and there is no youth worker who lives on-site. Instead young people in TAP are externally assisted to maintain and develop their education and employment prospects, while addressing any significant personal and social issues in their lives.
Youth Futures WA maintains a number of TAP properties in the metropolitian area, some of which can accommodate up to 3 young people. Young people in TAP are given more freedom and trust to live independently and as such are able to stay in TAP for up to 12 months. During this period they are assisted to acquire long-term, permanent accommodation through either private rentals or other government housing.
As TAP is medium to long term accommodation we do not assist as many young people through this program as TINOCA, however the support they are provided is over a longer period.

TAP has received donations of time and money from corporate partners such as Turner & Townsend, Bunnings and the National Australia Bank and these businesses are applauded for their generous support.
